Racing For Wildlife Charity Trap Shoot announced for August 14 in MI with Ryan Newman

Michigan International Speedway, the Michigan DNR and Racing for Wildlife, a partnership between The Ryan Newman Foundation and The Conservation Fund, are pleased to host the first Racing For Wildlife Charity Trap Shoot.

Racing For Wildlife’s inaugural project is the restoration of Mill Lake Youth Camp, a DNR property located just 30 miles north of Michigan International Speedway and nestled in the 20,000 acre Waterloo Recreation Area. Today the camp has fallen into disrepair and Racing for Wildlife and MIS, along with our partners, will restore it to its former glory. Mill Lake Youth Camp and Cedar Creek Camp come together with Michigan United Conservation Clubs to create innovative conservation programs for children and families. Proceeds from the
event will go to fund the restoration of the camps.

On Thursday, August 14, 2008 we invite you to the Chelsea Rod Gun Club to enjoy a charity trap shoot and learn more about the restoration of Mill Lake Youth Camp. The day begins with the first flight running from 10:00 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. including lunch. The second flight begins with lunch at noon followed by shooting until 3:30 p.m. During lunch you will have the opportunity to dine with NASCAR’s #12 Alltel Driver, Ryan Newman!

The cost for attendance is $100 per adult and $50 per child (16 and under). Lunch, rounds and clay pigeons are included. Guns will be available from the Chelsea Rod and Gun Club; please make arrangements prior to the day of the event. Space is limited, so please purchase tickets online at our ebay store:

http://stores.ebay.com/Racing-for-Wildlife.  To make your purchase using cash or check, or if you have questions, please contact Erin McDonough at
517-346-6475 or emcdonough@mucc.org. The restoration of Mill Lake Youth Camp is an important start to preserving our environment and our wildlife. Once restored the camp will provide year round experiences and activities for families and youth, please help us introduce a new generation of children to the great outdoors in southern Michigan!
