CHARLOTTE, N.C. (May 9, 2008) – The NASCAR Library Collection will be hosting a booth sponsored by Books A Million at the 14th Annual Food Lion Speed Street from Thursday, May 22 through Saturday, May 24. A variety of NASCAR Library Collection artists and authors will be available for autographs and fan interaction. Joining the NLC will be NASCAR Sprint Cup Series driver and winner of the 2008 Daytona 500 Ryan Newman, NASCAR racing legend Bobby Allison and NASCAR President Mike Helton.

The NASCAR Library Collection booth will be located at the corner of Trade St. and 5th St. in uptown Charlotte. The three day event will be highlighted by several appearances a day. Fans will also have the opportunity to purchase the latest NASCAR Library Collection titles on site from Books A Million.
Scheduled to appear are:

• NASCAR President Mike Helton will be at the tent from 2:00 p.m. until
  3:00 p.m. on Friday, May 23
• Daytona 500 winner Ryan Newman and Dale Beaver, author of Before the
  Thunder Rolls, will be at the NLC booth on Friday, May 23 from 1:00 p.m.
  until 2:00 p.m. Ryan will sign copies of the book Before Thunder
  Rolls.
• NASCAR legend Bobby Allison and NASCAR’s Herb Branham, author of
  NASCAR Family Album, will make an appearance Saturday, May
  24 from 11:00 a.m. until 12 p.m.
• NASCAR Drive for Diversity driver Jesus Hernandez will appear on
  Thursday from 3:00 p.m until 4:00 p.m.
• Wendy Etherington, author of several NASCAR Harlequin books, including
  Full Throttle and No Holding Back, will be on
  hand Saturday from 12:00 p.m. until 1:00 p.m.
• NASCAR-licensed artist Stephen Balock will greet fans and display his
  artwork on Friday, May 23 from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m.
• John Gallagher, Editor-in-Chief with Starbridge Media group, publisher
  of NASCAR Heroes comic books, will be at the tent on Thursday,
  May 22 from 12:00 p.m. until 1:00 p.m., and again on Friday from 3:00 p.m.
  until 4:00 p.m.
• Diandra Leslie-Pelecky, author of The Physics of
  NASCAR, will make an appearance on Saturday from 4:00 p.m. until 5:00
  p.m.

NASCAR.COM correspondent and NASCAR Angel’s co-host, Shannon Wiseman will kick off the festivities from 11:00 a.m. until 12:00 p.m. on both May 22 and May 23. Special appearances will also be made by NASCAR Heroes characters Jimmy Dash and Jack Diesel. The NASCAR Library Collection will also be distributing complimentary goody bags each day with lots of free gifts including posters, calendars and much more.
