NASCAR Fans will want to race into Food Lion stores during All Star Race Weekend May 17-20, 2007 in Charlotte. The Meaty Bone brand, Ryan Newman Foundation and Food Lion are bringing exclusive NASCAR collectibles to Food Lion customers. Selected Food Lion stores will have Mystery Shoppers looking for customers with Meaty Bone products in their carts. These customers could win a copy of Pit Road Pets™: NASCAR Stars and Their Pets, signed by Ryan Newman. Over 250 copies of the book--signed by Ryan and Krissie Newman--will be given away.

Meaty Bone is committed to supporting the Ryan Newman Foundation and sponsored the reprint of Pit Road Pets™: NASCAR Stars and Their Pets. All net proceeds from the book are donated to a local rescue group's capital campaign to build a no-kill animal shelter, education center, dog park and regional public low-cost spay/neuter clinic in Hickory, North Carolina that will serve the counties in the heart of NASCAR country. The spay/neuter clinic is part of the National Spay/Neuter Response Team initiative, for which Ryan and Krissie Newman volunteer as spokespersons. The goal of the NSNRT is to help communities around the nation open low-cost spay/neuter clinics and work in conjunction with humane societies, animal shelters and pet rescue groups to reduce pet overpopulation and euthanasia through high-volume pet sterilization programs.
