Auto Racing Scholarships...

- Ryan Newman began his racing career at age four with quarter midgets,
midgets, sprint cars and silver crown cars. Ryan has been focused on auto
racing since his childhood, but he always realized the importance of
education. While racing in the United States Auto Club midget car series,
Ryan also kept his focus on his studies which resulted in his induction to
the National Honor Society. Ryan was an honors graduate of South Bend
LaSalle High School in 1996—the same year he was named USAC Silver Crown
Series Rookie of the Year.
- A recipient of the
Rich Vogler Memorial Scholarship, Ryan attended
Purdue University and earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Vehicle
Structure Engineering in August 2001.
- After the Ryan Newman Foundation establishes an endowment to sustain the
work of the foundation, we plan to provide scholarships for students
pursuing a degree at a university or college while continuing their
involvement in quarter midget, midget and Silver Crown auto racing.
Scholarship opportunities will be listed on this page in the future.
